Customers in the Sudlersville/Barclay Sanitary Sub-District are being notified of upcoming changes to utility billing services.

Queen Anne’s County officials say the Town’s billing system will transition to the County system in the coming months. As part of the change, billing will shift from a monthly cycle to a quarterly schedule beginning in Fall 2026.

Key dates include:
  • July 2026: Final monthly utility bill
  • October 2026: First quarterly utility bill
Officials say customers will notice a new bill format, but services will remain the same. No action is required at this time, and current billing will continue as usual until the transition.

The update will also include a change to late fees, reducing the charge from 10% per month to 1.5% of any unpaid balance.

Customers will still have multiple payment options, including online payments, autopay, mail, in-person payments at the County finance office, and Queenstown Bank locations.

County officials say more information will be shared as the transition approaches. Customers with questions can contact the Sanitary District.
