Tractor-Trailer Rollover on U.S. 50 in Queenstown

Emergency crews responded early this morning (Mon Jan 12th) to a tractor-trailer rollover along U.S. Route 50 in Queenstown.

According to initial reports, the tractor-trailer left the roadway and rolled into a ditch near Carmichael Road just after 6:10 a.m. Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the scene, and traffic was urged to use caution in the area as crews responded.

Authorities say the driver was able to self-extricate from the vehicle and did not require rescue. The trailer was reported to be carrying methane, prompting notifications to the Maryland Department of the Environment as a precaution.

Emergency personnel secured the scene while officials assessed the situation. There were no immediate reports of injuries or evacuations related to the incident.

Motorists traveling through the area experienced delays with intermittent road closures lasting more than two hours as crews worked to clean up the scene and investigate.
