A traffic pattern change is coming to a busy intersection in Queen Anne’s County aimed at improving safety.

Beginning April 1, the intersection of MD 305, Hope Road, Hayden Road, and Dean Road will transition to a four-way stop. All vehicles approaching the intersection will be required to come to a complete stop before proceeding.

The project is a partnership between the Queen Anne’s County Department of Public Works and the Maryland State Highway Administration.

As part of the change, crews will install new stop signs, stop-ahead warning signs, pavement markings, and stop bars to help guide drivers through the updated traffic pattern.

Starting March 18, the State Highway Administration will place electronic message boards along MD 305 to alert motorists to the upcoming change. Additional warning signs and roadway markings will also be added on MD 305 and Hope Road.

Drivers are urged to slow down, watch for new signage, and use caution as the new traffic pattern takes effect.

For more information, residents can contact the Queen Anne’s County Department of Public Works.
