fatal Crash on Route 301 in Queen Anne’s County

3/13/2026

A Delaware man was killed in a two-vehicle crash late Thursday night on U.S. Route 301 in Queen Anne’s County, according to Maryland State Police.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack responded around 11:16 p.m. to the northbound lanes of Route 301 just north of Route 544 in Millington for reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

Preliminary investigators say a Chevrolet Traverse driven by 19-year-old Drew Satterfield of Middletown, Delaware, and a Volkswagen GTI driven by 22-year-old Easton Bryant of Chester were both traveling north when the Volkswagen struck the Chevrolet from behind. The impact caused the Chevrolet to leave the roadway and overturn into a wooded area.

Satterfield was pronounced dead at the scene. Bryant was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 1 to a local trauma center for treatment of injuries.

Investigators say speed and possible impairment may have been factors in the crash. Charges may be filed pending the outcome of the investigation and consultation with the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The roadway was closed for more than two hours as troopers conducted the crash investigation. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with road closures while the Maryland State Police Crash Team continues the investigation.
