Early Morning Vehicle Fire in Marydel Under Investigation

Firefighters responded to an early morning vehicle fire Sunday, April 5th in Caroline County.

According to the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, the fire was reported around 1:46 a.m. at State Line Gas on Crown Stone Road in Marydel. The vehicle involved was a 2015 Mercedes sedan.

The fire was discovered by the vehicle’s owner. Crews from the Marydel Volunteer Fire Company responded with about 10 firefighters and brought the blaze under control in approximately 15 minutes.

No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at about $50,000.

Investigators say the fire originated in the passenger compartment of the car. The cause remains under investigation.
